内容記述 | As much attention has been paid to the policy of local medical care and health promotion factors in recent years, with the aim to be of some use for regional and indiviual health control we have participated in the patroling medical examination of 6 areas from 1989 to 1993. In addition to urine and blood tests we have investigated the diet, and in addition to reporting the results to the individual, we have given the accumulated data to the regional medical facilities. As this time the Tsuken and Izena islands were visited for investigation, and we have compared the condition of health and food intake of the population. As physical conditions, both the men and women of Izena showed an inclination of stoutness, and intake of nourishment was slightly higher. Especially in the Tsuken island where the environment had greatly changed over 15 years, the change in the eating habits was examined from the viewpoint of choise of material and method of preparation. In the investigation 15 years ago, use of plants growing in the garden or material indigenous to Okinawa were observed, but the investigation undertaken in 1992 the appearance of materials and cooking methods particular to the region had decreased, showing that even dietary habits had been influenced by modernization and a wane in tradition. |
